ABOUT GUANGZHOU
The 2017 South China Historical Road Orienteering Championship, which opened in May, runs through Taishan of Jiangmen City, Boluo of Huizhou, Liannan of Qingyuan,Shantou, Renhua of Shaoguan,Yunan of Yunfu, Dapu of Meizhou, Xuwen of Zhanjiang, Raoping of Chaozhou and will reach Guangzhou, the tenth stop, eventually on 16th-17th December 2017.
The competition in Guangzhou will be held in Huangpu Ancient Port and Haizhu Wetland Park in Haizhu District.
Not only some of the beautiful old villages and historical roads are chosen as the venues for the competition, the “One Belt and One Road”, ancient waterway, port and ancient towns are also added to the list of venues. Huangpu Ancient Port has played an important role in trading and communicating with foreign countries as well as culture transfers. Haizhu Wetland Park is the largest downtown wetland park among China's super metropolises with a planned area of 26 square kilometers. The athletes can enjoy the captivating views and local culture during the competition, such as tasting the local food and experiencing the daily life of the local residents.
In addition, the Tourism Administration of Guangzhou Municipality offers “Visit Guangzhou Courtesy” to the athletes in order to exert the synergy between sports and tourism. The athletes can enjoy the discounts, even free services, offered by tourist attractions, hotels and travel agencies by presenting their ID card, Registration SMS and the Courtesy card.
