The Guangzhou Metro Museum opened its doors to the public on December 20, revealing splendid views and fantastic stories of the city’s metro system.
Spread over three floors, the museum features 10 stations with various themes including: starting station, universal station, time station, Feiyue station, Chuanyue station, Huanxin station, Jiangxin station, convenience station, Pingan station as well as Youle station.
The basement of the museum displays geological structures and construction tools to help show how the subway system was created.
On the first floor, people can visit elaborate and vintage models of old transportation conveyances such as rickshaws, bicycles and sedan chairs. The museum also conceptualizes landmarks and views of world metro systems through the use of models.
The shopping mall next to the museum will be open during the Chinese New Year, which features clothing stores, IMAX cinemas, supermarkets and restaurants. People can go to the shopping mall for entertainment and receive discounts as well.
Time: Tuesday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
