About: Baomo Garden, first built in the late Qing Dynasty, was ruined in 1950s and rebuilt in 1995. The rebuilding took six years and the garden was enlarged to 92 thousand square meters. It combines court culture of the Qing Dynasty, Lingnan ancient architectural art, Lingnan Garden, and water town features of Pearl River Delta into one. The garden, laid out properly, is crisscrossed with stream and more than 30 stone bridges. Wander around the garden and you will encounter Baomo Hall, Treasure Collection Hall, Zidong Boat, etc. Finely made artistic works including pottery sculptures, clay figurines, brick carvings, lime carvings, stone carvings, and wood carvings decorate the whole garden. When you are here, pay attention to the following two craftworks: the biggest relief sculpture of World Guinness Record named “Riverside Scene at Qingming Festiva” which displays the magnificent scenes of the Golden Age in ancient China and the large brick inscription named “Tu Yan He Ming Bi”, which represents the utmost achievement of Chinese traditional brick sculpture.
