The South China Book Festival is sponsored by thePublicity Department of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CommunistParty of China, the Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film andTelevision of Guangdong Province, the Publicity Department of the MunicipalParty Committee of Guangzhou, the Guangzhou Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film andTelevision, Southern Publishing and Media Co., Ltd., Guangdong Xinhua IssuingGroup, and Guangzhou Xinhua Publishing and Distribution Group Co., Ltd andother units. Founded in 1993, the “South China Book Festival” is an annualcultural feast of the South Guangdong. It is a leading cultural brand thatpromotes reading for all. It is a reading carnival with more than one millionparticipants. It is also one of the largest and most influential book fairs inChina, an important platform for enhancing the cultural image of Guangdong.

The book festival is mainly aimed at young readers. It isheld regularly at the same place every year. The reading-themed event presentsthe reading trend, creates a reading atmosphere and uses Internet + concept.Through a series of book fairs, various cultural activities, exhibition of excellentculture and linkage across the province, readers are infected, nurtured andenjoy reading in a strong cultural atmosphere. The 2018 South China BookFestival & Guangzhou Book Fair will be held from August 10th to 14th inZone B of the China Import and Export Fair Exhibition Hall.
