Guangzhou’s summer is a season with a blaze of bright colors. TheGuangzhou Municipal Forestry and Garden Bureau has recently announced thatthere had been around 100 sites for flower appreciation developed from 2015 to2017. These sites are distributed in People’s Beiliu Flower Area, Yuexiu Parkand Huanghuagang Park of Yuexiu District, Luhu District, etc. The good news isthat Guangzhou will plant around 100,000 flowering trees to create 20 newflower-appreciation sites. Currently, crape myrtle, lxora chinensis, delonixregia, jacaranda mimosifolia and so on have become the main highlights ofGuangzhou’s summer.

    According to statistics released by the Guangzhou MunicipalForestry and Garden Bureau, Zhujiang Park, Huanghuagang Park, GuangzhouMunicipal Children’s Park, Tianhe Park, Airport Expressway, Xinjiao CentralRoad, Liuhua Lake Park Crape Myrtle Park, Seagull Island Tourist Area, BaiyunAvenue South, Airport Expressway, Xiaogang Park, Zhuangtou Park, and People’sPark are planted with lagerstroemia indica and lagerstroemia speciose. With theapproach of the full-blossom period, the roadside lagerstroemia indica andlagerstroemia speciose are booming with claret-colored flowers. All over thetrees, branches are covered with flowers, which seems to compete for beautywith the sunset glow in the sky. Citizens who are fond of appreciating crapemyrtle can visit there these days.
