Guangdong province is planning to build the world's longest tourist highway. Recently, Guangdong tourist highway Plan was announced. The tourist highway totals a length of 1,875 kilometers, connects 14 cities, 38 counties (districts), 164 towns (streets), 15 industrial parks, 20 coastal new areas and 7 coastal scenic clusters and radiates 72 Grade-A above coastal scenic areas.
With the longest coastal line in China, Guangdong boasts its coastal tourism resources. It has a wide ocean, over 1,400 coastal islands, of which the islands with over 500 square meters account for 759. They constitute beautiful coastal scene of Lingnan with long coastal lines. From the planning, the tourist highway planned by Guangdong enjoys length greater than the No.1 Road of America, which is called “No.1 Road” of Guangdong. The road connecting 7 coastal scenic clusters including circum-Pearl River Delta, Chuandao-Yinhu Bay, Hailingdao-Shuidong Bay, circum-Leizhou Peninsula, Daya Bay-Renping Peninsula, Honghai Bay- Jieshi Bay, Shanchaojie- Nao’ao is expected to give play to snowball effects.
